One of the most strategic and direct means available to improve the overall well-being of youth and to help students graduate is to proactively address the barriers to their success, including absenteeism attributed to teen pregnancy and health complications caused by sexually transmitted infections, including HIV/AIDS. The Healthy Colorado Youth Alliance (The Alliance) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit coalition of organizations who believe that adolescent pregnancy and STI rates can be reduced through sustained statewide efforts that include youth and family engagement, proven science-based education and intervention, and advocacy.
Our Mission
The Healthy Colorado Youth Alliance seeks to reduce rates of unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, in Colorado youth by ensuring that all young people have access to science-based, comprehensive, medically-accurate, culturally sensitive, and age-appropriate sexuality education, information and resources to make informed decisions about their health and relationships.
What We Do:
1. Support local community efforts to create sustainable comprehensive sexuality education and advance the health and safety of all young people.
2. Advocate for comprehensive sexuality education throughout Colorado.
3. Inform public policy to support comprehensive sexuality education, locally, statewide, and nationally.
